Mr. Zwers will be gone for 10 days training two high schools’ faculty and students on Study Technology*. This pilot will introduce these study tools that enable learning for application and competency. This project hopes to inspire the students to reach for the responsibility and leadership necessary to create prosperity in their country.

Helping with this project is part of Mr. Zwers’ passion of educating our youth. He was also a part of the Limbe Academy project in 2012 in Haiti.

Alumni Spotlight – David Zwers

Instagran_Post
David Zwers, a 2016 Clearwater Academy graduate, is having a great first year at Purdue University.
He began his collegiate career last fall at the Purdue College of Engineering, one of the top Engineering schools on the planet. Since beginning David has excelled academically in all his classes and has really enjoyed the beginning phase of his college education.
David has become the head of his Engineering study group and has had the opportunity to share Study Technology* with his fellow students. He was able to introduce them to the technology after many students inquired about his stellar academic production and how he was able to do it.
He has been inducted into two national honor societies; Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma. These highly esteemed societies only accept the highest performing college students.
Lastly, David has been asked to work as a Teaching Assistant (TA) in Physics when he returns for his second year. A TA is responsible for assisting faculty members in conducting classes and is something that is usually reserved for older students.
David is in good company at Purdue University as their Alumni contains an impressive list and includes astronauts Neil Armstrong, Gus Grissom, Eugene Cernan and Nobel Prize-winning physicists and chemists to name just a few.
Congratulations David to a great start on your future and we look forward to seeing where it takes you.

CAI Ski Trip 2017 Snowshoe Mountain

Clearwater Academy’s annual ski trip is not just about skiing, it is an opportunity for our students to experience something new, to become physically competent and understand the value of perseverance. Not to mention the friendships that are made stronger by being part of this group; helping each other succeed on the slopes and being responsible for each other.

Skiing is not just about the fun – Skiing is about becoming more confident and more able. Life Lesson that can be learned from any skiing experience: “When you fall, the only option you have is to get back up and keep going.”

These are lessons from our skiers:

I learned how to snowboard in one day – my friend taught me. I didn’t think I could do it but I did! L.D

I did a jump and “caught air”, I got way better with skiing and spent a lot of quality time with my friends. R.M.

It was really fun, a good group of people. Everyone was happy and we all got better at skiing and I got to know people that I usually don’t hang out with.  K.G.

It was my first time skiing in America and it was way better than I thought it would be.

Skiing was a lot of fun and hanging out and playing games with everyone at night was really fun. I can’t wait to go next year. S.G.

Snowboarding was awesome. I had a fun time hanging with my friends. L.S.
