Pre-K, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2
Beginning School
More than just “day care”, Clearwater Academy pre-elementary grades give our students the best start to their complete educational experience. Our curriculum creates a strong foundation in academic basics that carries through to elementary, middle and high school curriculum.
In alignment with the latest research in early reading, our students are taught using a program of systematic phonics which helps students learn to read and write before the end of Kindergarten 2. Essential math concepts, lots of science experiments and basic life skills create our well-rounded, pre-elementary curriculum, setting up a successful future for our young students’ educational career.
Essential to any successful classroom and happy students are the teachers. Our pre-elementary teachers have many years of experience and are highly trained in successfully caring for young students and in the application of Study Technology. Our patient and understanding pre-elementary staff create a safe environment for our beginning learners, making their first school experience a happy and successful one.
Life Experience
Preschool and Kindergarten 1 students have lots of playtime in our safe, secure and separate play yard. The play yard is equipped with field turf, slides, swings and more, providing lots of activity and outdoor time. Then there are field trips. As a part of Goals Oriented Education, even our young students get a chance to get out of the classroom and experience life.
The “What People Do at Work” is a popular half-day trip where they get to see first hand what grown ups do when they go to work. Preschool, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2, like the rest of the school, begins the day at 9:00 a.m. and ends off at 5:00 p.m., giving busy parents enough time to pick students up without taking time off work.
